Hi, the good people who gave the boat also towed it to storage for me, but I noticed the boat is facing the rear with the stern facing the car pullingit. Will this make it difficult to get into the water, with the bow first?
I don’t think I can switch it around on the trailor, but any thoughs please would be great!
Its not necessarily a problem, I’ve known people have built trailers this way round but I have never seen one or can remember seeing any pictures. The pro’s and con I’ve been told is that its easier to launch but harder to recover.
I would get the boat and trailer up and running and try that arrangement to see how you get on with it before considering changing it. Unless its a trailer rebuild of course.
Richard.
Many thanks Richard, I was hoping to get Venture into the Tamar river soon, but it maybe later in the year. Not sure of the trailor itself, but will check with the past owners.
OK all good… thankyou!
Hey Richard, not as yet, but have rowed back on my work on the boat, I was going to repaint or rather revarnish the boat sides… but I’d spend more time working then enjoying Venture!
So just a couple of things to do, outboard, battery and I should be good to go 🙂
I’m going to launch onto the Tamar , closest to me, and give me the chance to get used to it, hopefully February, will take pics!
It’s often the case, that the Lysander sailboat is positioned bow to the back of the trailer, I’ve placed ours stern to the rear, so trials of latching will provide hopefully some answers.
